CREST Program Brings Innovative Science Education to Skagit Valley
The Culturally Responsive Elementary Science Teaching (CREST) Grant is transforming science education in the Skagit Valley, providing hands-on, culturally relevant learning experiences for young students. Supported by a $1.7 million grant from the National Science Foundation, CREST is an initiative led by SMATE's Dr. Debi Hanuscin, Dr. Josie Melton and Dr. Sarah Voss to integrate equitable and community-centered science education into elementary classrooms.
